UIDAI has made the facility of changing the address in Aadhaar card very easy. Earlier this process could be done only offline, but now you can do it online as well. You can update your address by visiting the official website of UIDAI, the process of which is as follows –
- First of all you have to visit the official website of UIDAI https://uidai.gov.in .
On the home page of the website, you have to go to the “my Aadhaar” section and login. To login, you have to enter your Aadhaar number and captcha code.
After completing the login process, an OTP (One Time Password) will be sent to your registered mobile number. After entering the OTP, you will get login to the portal.

- Now a form will open in front of you in which you will see the information about your old address. Here you can enter your new address.
- After filling in the new address details, you will have to select the post office so that your information can be correctly matched with the postal system of the concerned area.

- A non-refundable fee of ₹50 is applicable for this process of changing the address. You can make this payment through online mode.
- After the payment is completed, you will be given an Acknowledgment number. With the help of this number, you can track the status of your request.
- Once you complete all the steps, your request is sent to UIDAI. Within about 15-30 days, your Aadhaar card is updated and you can download it online.
